Sir Bani Yas Island can be classified as one of the natural island in the emirate, and is the core island of the planned Desert Islands which is multipurpose and is 180 kilometers off Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi Sir Bani Yas Island is the home of Arabia’s largest wildlife reserves “The Arabian Wildlife Park”, having more than 10,000 free roaming animals, occupying more than half of the island. The place is occupied with animals such as Arabian Oryx, Gazelles, and giraffes along with latest arrivals, such as hyenas and cheetahs.
Here you will get opportunity to get close look at eye-level at the island’s giraffe from a raised platform made out of recycled materials. Another attraction is that the visitors are taken around the island to watch the nature and wildlife in the world’s first two zero emission buses. Many tour operators have packages that include visit to this island, so please contact them to get details on itinerary. Those who are staying at Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara can go for a 4×4 nature & wildlife drives on the park in the special vehicles guided by expert staff.
