Arriving in style in Abu Dhabi is about certain useful tips for the first time travelers in the airport of Abu Dhabi, the capital city of United Arab Emirates. When you travel to a foreign airport, the new atmosphere will be a confusing one adding more stress to you. Luckily, it is not the case with the Abu Dhabi International Airport. With a few handful tips, you can get in and get out the airport pretty much easily. The Abu Dhabi International airport has three terminals. Terminals 1 and 2 offer service to most airlines. As soon as you enter the airport, you will be taken to the main terminal for immigration, customs and baggage claim.
Immigration in the Abu Dhabi International airport is not as large or extensive as it is in certain parts of the world. If you want a quick exit, then you should be able to get in the right queue. There are a large number of options in the airport and you can get easily confused. A thing that you want to notice here is a long queue of men in the far left. They are migrant workers in the country and they are subjected to regressive scans and checks. You should not get into this queue. There are queues for Airline crews, UAE citizens, GCC citizens and other nationalities. The safer thing for you to do is get into the queue of other nationalities. Here we will not see long queues as the lien moves quickly due to the diligence of the airport crew.
When you finish your immigration, now it is the time to take your bags. If you have a large number of bags, then you can take the service of a porter. He is the one who comes in blue jumpsuits. Hiring a porter from the airport to the cab will cost you only 50 dirhams or 13.50 US dollars. The porter will take you through the airport to the cab. You can do some shopping in the duty free shop. Then it is a quick walk through the customs to your cab.
Terminal 3 is for the Etihad Airline passengers. Here immigration and baggage claims are pretty quicker. But the walk to the cab is a slight longer. An important thing to be noted here is that Abu Dhabi is a Muslim country and certain medicines and certain things are banned here. You can contact your embassy for an up to date list of banned items so that you can prevent them from taking with you.
