Saadiyat Island Abu Dhabi

Saadiyat Island is seven minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi and 20 minutes far from Abu Dhabi International Airport. Remarkable changes are occurring in the 27 square kilometer Saadiyat Island providing world class leisure, residential, business and cultural hub of global enormity. It is famed as the abode of the world’s single concentration of premier cultural assets including Zayed National Museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. These are all designed by Pritzker prize winners. Manrat Al Saadiyat (place of enlightenment –the island’s purpose built center shows to its vistors the Saadiyat vision to life. There are two galleries which is open to the public called ‘The Saadiyat Story’ which is on permanent display and gives the visitors an interactive narration on the history and cultural vision behind the island, and the ‘Arts Abu Dhabi Gallery’ which conducts a series of exhibitions and educational programs.

UAE Pavilion which was moved piece by piece from Shanghai attracted almost two million visitors to the UAE’s national exhibition during the World Expo 2010. It is now emerging as major exhibition and events venue and is credited with hosting some of the country’s very important cultural functions. This landmark venue with appealing dune-shaped structure was designed by London’s acclaimed Foster + Partners. Saadiyat Beach Golf Club offers the region’s first ocean course. This was designed by the famous Gary Player harnessing the natural beauty of Saadiyat Island’s magnificent white sand beaches for a truly great playing experience.

Two five star properties is already opened, they are – The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi and Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi, and some more are in the pipeline to take this place to new realms. The island’s leisure and hospitality infrastructure is tremendously increasing; adopting a unique style, the exclusive Monte Carlo Beach Club, Saadiyat celebrated the stylishness of its renowned sister on the Riviera. Its leisure services consists of outdoor swimming pool, a workout room with fitness and wellness programs, spa facilities, sauna and steam rooms, Kids’s pool and playing areas and private cabanas and loungers all lined up in a fantastic style on the alluring whiter beach.

People here consider Hawksbill sea turtles as the original guest, which continue to nest on the destination’s sweeping beachfront. Saadiyat Beach which is 9 kilometre long continues to host several Hawksbill turtle nests every year. It is protected species and is listed critically endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List. The population tends to go down by 80 % worldwide over the last three decade due to habitat destruction and poaching. Seeing this the master developer’ Tourism Development & Investment Company’ started its Hawksbill Conservation Programmed in early 2010, managed to hatch successfully 650 eggs on Saadiyat.
